Facing off some of the world's best in MMER in the GT Class, Dilantha Malagamuwa of Dilango Racing refuses to back down in his conquest to obtain the trophy from the crowd favourites Audi and also pole position Team PCS Racing.
The GT Class of the 11th Edition of MMER is nothing short of fantastic and ferocious. As the class is filled with Works Teams, F1, LeMans, Super Taikyu drivers and such, we have had the pleasure of feasting our eyes upon magnificient racing machines ranging from the Audi R8 LMS, Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 GT3, Porsche 997 GT2 RSRs and many more.
As previously reported, Team Dilango Racing hasn't exactly had an easy cruise since Day 1. However with perseverance and better luck, things might just prove to be difficult for the front runners as the race begins tonight. Team Dilango Racing will begin tonight's race on the grid in 5th position. Driven by none other than Dilango Racing's owner Dilantha Malagamuwa, 2005 GT300 Winner Kota Sasaki & Porsche Cup Asia Driver Jeffrey Lee, they aim only for the victory and nothing else.
We caught up with Mr Dilantha earlier yesterday after his Qualifying session to check with him on how things have been going on so far.
Mr Dilantha said: "As today was only the day we got to really test the car on the track I can only I'm happy. We are still setting up the car at this moment and testing them during Qualifying must be one of the craziest things to do. However with what has been done so far we have managed to get within less than a second from the other Lamborghini teams who have been setting up before the race and that is great.
"Everything has been good so far. Starting in the 5th of the grid gives us a good position to initiate an attack when the race begins. Our strategy will be simple, commence attack at beginning and try build lead if possible. Once that is done then we'll settle in at a comfortable pace. But most importantly, let's do some real racing!" he adds on the subject of qualifying 5th Overall yesterday.
MMER 2010 will begin with the thunderous GT Class leading up the charge up front at 12am today.
