Day 1 gets along the way as Race Teams use what little time they have left in today's final practice in preparation for this weekends MMER. As gloomy skies cast itself over the circuit earlier in the day, what looked like a imminent tropical thunderstorm only turned out to be a light drizzle, much to the relief of the Teams.

However as the day proceeded, race teams struggled to find balance between proper grip and consistency with the new One Make Tyre Rule provider, Pirelli. Teams were found struggling to optimise their set ups as they have yet to find the sweet spot of the compound to which they are unfamiliar of.

Mr Jacky Ng of JC Racing mentioned "So far the performance of both cars were very satisfactory and the team is looking forward towards the race this weekend. The cars were performing without a hitch yesterday during practice and today as well. Hopefully the streak will continue throughout the weekend. Our drivers are coping with the tyre grip and hopefully it will not be an issue."

When asked about the Team's overall confidence, he further added "Endurance racing is all about lasting towards the end, this time around because the race will begin at night it will be less stressful on the machines and hopefully will increase the chances of surviving through. In Endurance Racing it's all about survival to the end so we definitely hope that both cars will finish."

In the Dilango Racing's camp however, things were not looking too bright. The Team was facing minor setbacks ever since Day 00, their Lamborghini LP560 GT3 machine has yet to set in a proper practice lap.

Mr. Dilantha said: "Some of the things in which we've ordered arrived a bit later than expected and some of the parts sent were wrong."

Earlier in the day during GT Class practise the Lamborghini's brakes locked up during it's warm-up lap.

"We have already identified the problematic part that was fitted in and we're confident that we can get a good feel of the car later tonight during the Night Practice Session," he further added.

Qualifying will be held tomorrow and do watch this space as we continue to give you coverage of the event.
